About This Procedure
Why Choose Meva Clinic?
Full-arch reconstruction on 4 or 6 implants. An option for total tooth loss or teeth that can no longer be saved.
All-on-4 dental implants in Istanbul are coordinated by Meva Clinic for full-arch rehabilitation in patients with missing teeth, edentulous jaws or failing teeth. The clinical planning pathway includes a jawbone and gum assessment with CBCT 3D imaging, which supports precise implant planning, including angled posterior implants where anatomy allows; in suitable cases this may reduce the need for bone grafting. Depending on the assessment, the arch is supported by four or six implants. A temporary prosthesis is loaded only after a strict clinical suitability review, and the final prosthesis is planned for chewing function, smile confidence and realistic expectations. Treatment uses local anaesthesia or sedation, with around seven hotel nights in Istanbul. Patients who need fewer teeth replaced can compare single dental implants in Turkey.

The Clinical Procedure
Strategic implant placement to support a fixed bridge.
CBCT Scan and Assessment
A 3D CBCT scan and clinical exam show bone volume, gum health and the position of nerves and sinuses, so the team can decide between four or six implants.
Digital Treatment Planning
Implant positions are planned digitally, often with the two back implants angled to use the available bone; in suitable cases this can reduce the need for bone grafting.
Extractions and Preparation
Under local anaesthesia or sedation, any remaining failing teeth are removed and the jaw is prepared for the implants.
Placing the Implants
Four (or six) titanium implants are placed in the jaw, and the stability of each implant is measured.
Provisional Fixed Bridge
Where implant stability and bone allow, a fixed provisional bridge is attached within a few days; if not, the team plans a different temporary solution.
Final Bridge on a Second Visit
After about 3–6 months of healing, you return to Istanbul for impressions, a try-in and fitting of the final screw-retained bridge.
Recovery & Transformation Journey
Phase 1: Surgery and First Days (Days 1–3)
Swelling, bruising and tenderness peak in the first days and are managed with cold packs and prescribed medication. Liquids and very soft foods only, with gentle rinsing as instructed.
Phase 2: Rest of Your Stay (about 7 hotel nights)
Where a provisional bridge was fitted, it is checked and adjusted, and a control visit takes place before the flight home. Many people return to desk work after about 3–5 days.
Phase 3: Healing at Home (about 3–6 months)
The implants integrate with the bone. A soft diet with the provisional, careful cleaning around the implants and not smoking support healing; remote follow-up stays in place.
Phase 4: Second Visit and Final Bridge
Once healing is confirmed, the final bridge is made, tried in and screwed onto the implants. Regular dental check-ups and professional cleaning follow.
The Meva Advantage
Avoids the need for expensive bone grafting in many cases.
Medical Guidelines & Safety Protocols
Treatment pathways are coordinated with selected specialist medical partners and accredited provider institutions, depending on the procedure and doctor assessment. Below are the clinical guidelines, safety protocols, and medical reference documentation for this procedure.
Indicated / Suitable For
- Adults with no remaining teeth in one or both jaws, or with failing teeth that cannot be saved
- Denture wearers who struggle with loose or uncomfortable removable dentures and want a fixed bridge
- Patients with jaw bone loss where angled back implants may reduce the need for bone grafting, as confirmed on a CBCT scan
- Patients whose general health allows oral surgery under local anaesthesia or sedation
- Patients able to return to Istanbul after about 3–6 months for the final bridge, and to keep up daily cleaning and regular check-ups
Contraindications / Not Suitable
- Uncontrolled diabetes or other uncontrolled systemic disease that impairs bone healing
- Heavy smoking that cannot be reduced or stopped around surgery, as it raises the risk of implant failure and inflammation around the implants
- Current or past treatment with antiresorptive drugs (such as intravenous bisphosphonates) or radiotherapy to the jaws, which needs specialist review and may rule out implant surgery
- Bleeding disorders or blood thinners that cannot be safely adjusted in coordination with the prescribing physician
- Bone volume too limited even for angled implants, where grafting or another approach has to be discussed instead
Pre-Operative Evaluation & Diagnostic Checks
CBCT 3D Scan: Measurement of bone height and width and of the position of nerves and sinuses, to decide between four or six implants and plan their angles.
Clinical & Oral Examination: A check of remaining teeth, gums, infections and the space between the jaws needed for a fixed bridge.
Medical History & Medication Review: Diabetes control, blood thinners, antiresorptive drugs and smoking habits, with blood tests such as blood count, glucose or HbA1c where indicated.
Sedation Assessment: A review of general health, current medication and fasting instructions where sedation is planned.
Digital Prosthetic Planning: Implant positions planned together with the future bridge, including whether an immediate fixed provisional is realistic in your case.
Potential Risks & Complications
In compliance with transparent clinical reporting, Meva Clinic ensures patients are fully informed of the physiological risks associated with surgical procedures through accredited partner-hospital safety protocols where clinically appropriate.
These peak in the first 2–3 days and are managed with cold packs, prescribed medication, a liquid and very soft diet and gentle rinsing.
An implant may not reach enough primary stability or may fail to integrate with the bone; a fixed provisional is fitted only where stability allows, and a failed implant can usually be replaced after healing.
In the lower jaw, an implant close to the nerve can cause numbness or tingling of the lip or chin, usually temporary; CBCT planning keeps implants at a safe distance from the nerve.
In the upper jaw, an implant can affect the sinus floor; angled placement and 3D planning are used to avoid the sinus, and any symptoms are treated promptly.
Plaque around implants can cause gum inflammation and, over time, bone loss (peri-implantitis); daily cleaning under the bridge, not smoking and professional check-ups reduce this risk.
The provisional or final bridge can chip or fracture, or a screw can loosen; a soft diet during healing and regular maintenance visits help prevent this, and parts can be repaired or replaced.
Realistic Expectations & Outcomes
All-on-4 or All-on-6 treatment replaces a full arch of missing or failing teeth with a fixed bridge screwed onto four or six implants. It can restore chewing function and the appearance of the smile, but it does not feel identical to natural teeth, and the first weeks require a liquid and then soft diet. A fixed provisional bridge is fitted within a few days only where implant stability and bone allow; otherwise a different temporary solution is planned. The implants need about 3–6 months to integrate with the bone before the final bridge is made on a second visit. Long-term results depend on daily cleaning, not smoking and regular professional maintenance.
Revision & Follow-Up Policy
Meva Clinic coordinates remote follow-up during the 3–6 months of healing and after the final bridge, typically at 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, with regular check-ups and professional cleaning recommended at home. If an implant does not integrate or the bridge needs repair or adjustment, the implant team assesses the cause and options individually. Any further treatment is planned only once healing allows, according to the clinical findings and the confirmed care plan. For 12 months after your treatment you can also send photos to the medical team whenever you wish and receive their feedback, and your questions are answered remotely.
